UnitedHealthcare is offering California residents who prefer to do business in Spanish a new package of services.
The PlanBien program includes a bilingual provider directory that lists physician offices with Spanish-speaking doctors or staff members; a team of Spanish-speaking customer service representatives; and Spanish-language educational materials.
UnitedHealthcare, a unit of UnitedHealth Group Inc., Minnetonka, Minn., began rolling out the program in Florida and Texas in 2008.
The California version will be available to businesses, labor organizations and public-sector employers in some markets in California, UnitedHealthcare says.
