A health insurer is offering new information sources and testing services along with major medical plans.
Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, New York, has added an online health assessment service, a personal health record system, and onsite health screening services.
The online assessment feeds results straight into the PHR system, which stores information about medical claims, lab results and prescriptions.
A PHR Health Tracker tool can track health indicators over time.
The assessment and PHR systems come with Guardian's Wellness benefits package, which is available to sponsors of all fully insured Guardian group health plans.
The other service, the health screening service, will cost extra. Employers that choose that option can have technicians come out to conduct screening tests.
Guardian is getting the screening service from Quest Diagnostics Inc., Madison, N.J.
