Personnel Changes: MassMutual, Phoenix, Others

Jerome Golden is retiring from his post as president of the income management strategies division at Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company.

Golden began to work for MassMutual, Springfield, Mass., in 2005, when MassMutual acquired a company he founded, Golden Retirement Resources Inc., New York. He also spent many years at other insurers.

Golden has a bachelor’s degree degree from the University of Michigan. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries.

In other personnel news:

- The Phoenix Companies Inc., Hartford, has promoted Christopher Wilkos to executive vice president and chief investment officer.

Wilkos previously was a senior vice president in corporate portfolio management.

Wilkos has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the College of the Holy Cross and a master’s degree in business from the University of Connecticut. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst professional designation.

Wilkos serves on the board of the United Way of the Capital Area.

- CeltiCare Health Plan of Massachusetts, Brighton, Mass., has hired Richard Lynch to be its president.

Lynch previously was vice president for health care management for the Northeast region of WellPoint Inc., Indianapolis.

Lynch has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Lowell and a master’s degree in business administration from Boston University. He is on the board of the Whittier Street Health Center Foundation, Boston.

CeltiCare is a joint venture formed by Celtic Insurance Company, Chicago, and Caritas Christi Health Care, Boston, that serves low-income Massachusetts residents who are not eligible for Medicare.

- Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, Horsham, Pa., has hired William Stevens to be vice president, field learning and development.

Stevens previously was assistant vice president for agency growth, development and agency integration at Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, New York.

Stevens has a bachelor’s degree from Long Island University and a master’s degree in financial services from the American College. He holds the Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant professional designations.

- The group insurance division of CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia, has named Dr. Robert Anfield to be chief medical officer for the CIGNA disability business.

Anfield previously was the lead medical director for the CIGNA disability management solutions unit.

Anfield has a law degree from the University of California at Los Angeles and a medical degree from Indiana University. He is board-certified in family medicine.

- Corporate Plans Inc., Solon, Ohio, which does business as CPI-HR, has hired Brian Meharry to help the firm expand nationally. Meharry previously was an executive at Mangrove Software Inc., Tampa, Fla.
