An insurer has introduced a new family of limited-benefit health plans.

Assurant Health, Milwaukee, a unit of Assurant Inc., New York, says the new Health Access line offers a choice of 3 different plans.

Each plan covers routine medical expenses, such as doctor office visits, prescriptions, preventive care and immunizations.

The plans do not provide coverage for catastrophic problems, serious illnesses or serious accidents.

Assurant Health will be selling the plans at the worksite, and it will be selling family coverage as well as individual coverage.

Prices for the plans start at about $40 per month.
