Matthew Winter has taken over from Richard Booth as vice chairman for transition planning and administration at American International Group Inc.
Booth, 62, is retiring, according to AIG, New York.
Winter, 52, is president of AIG's American General Life Companies unit, and he will continue to hold that position, AIG says.
AIG also has named Jeffrey Hurd, 42, to be AIG vice president and chief administrative officer.
Hurd has been senior vice president and head of asset management restructuring, and he will keep those titles, AIG says.

- Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company, Omaha, Neb., has hired Mark Rush to be a vice president in the independent life and annuity brokerage division.
Rush previously was senior vice president of sales and marketing for West Coast Life/Protective Life Insurance, a unit of Protective Life Corp., Birmingham, Ala.
- Woodbury Financial Services, Woodbury, Minn., a unit of Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., Hartford, has named Deb Berg vice president and chief administrative officer of operations and technology, effective April 1, 2009.
