Personnel Changes: AIG, Mutual of Omaha, Others

Matthew Winter has taken over from Richard Booth as vice chairman for transition planning and administration at American International Group Inc.

Booth, 62, is retiring, according to AIG, New York.

Winter, 52, is president of AIG's American General Life Companies unit, and he will continue to hold that position, AIG says.

AIG also has named Jeffrey Hurd, 42, to be AIG vice president and chief administrative officer.

Hurd has been senior vice president and head of asset management restructuring, and he will keep those titles, AIG says.

In other personnel news:

- Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company, Omaha, Neb., has hired Mark Rush to be a vice president in the independent life and annuity brokerage division.

Rush previously was senior vice president of sales and marketing for West Coast Life/Protective Life Insurance, a unit of Protective Life Corp., Birmingham, Ala.

- Woodbury Financial Services, Woodbury, Minn., a unit of Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., Hartford, has named Deb Berg vice president and chief administrative officer of operations and technology, effective April 1, 2009.

Berg has been the leader for new business acquisition and for the planning and delivery organization in the individual life technology division at Hartford Life, another Hartford unit, Woodbury says.

Berg has a bachelor's degree in economics and mathematics from the University of Wisconsin in River Falls, Wis., and a master's degree in information management from the University of St. Thomas.

- Disability RMS, Westbrook, Maine, a unit of Assurant Inc., New York, has hired Kevin Tierney to be vice president and general counsel.

Tierney previously was an arbitrator and mediator. He also has worked for Unum Group Corp., Chattanooga, Tenn.

Tierney has a bachelor's degree from Bowdoin College and a law degree from the University of Maine.

- The consulting arm of Aon Corp., Chicago, has hired Ken Oehler to be vice president and New York office leader for the organizational performance and implementation practice.

Oehler previously was principal for the global change implementation practice at Towers Perrin Forster & Crosby Inc., Philadelphia.

Oehler has a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Michigan, and a master's degree and doctorate in industrial and organizational psychology from DePaul University.
