Online brokerages are making retirement center sections one-stop shops for retirement-related information, online tools and products, a market research firm reports.
About 90% of the 18 websites studied provide a dedicated retirement center on the public site, and 78% of the sponsoring firms also make their centers available on private sites, according to Corporate Insight Inc., New York.
Firm researchers checked to see how accessible the centers are to visitors. They found that 28% of the sites give retirement planning maximum exposure, with retirement tabs in the main navigation menu, allowing visitor access from anywhere on the site.
Meanwhile, half the sites make their centers accessible from second-level navigation. But the remaining 4 sites bury retirement resources 3 or more levels from the top, the researchers report.
