A.D.A.M. Inc. has agreed to distribute health account and benefits administration services from a unit of UnitedHealth Group Inc. to Benergy benefits communications system users.

A.D.A.M., Atlanta, a benefits information technology company, says 6,000 employers are using the Web-based Benergy system.

A.D.A.M. will offer those employers health coverage benefits continuation administration services and other administration services from OptumHealth, Golden Valley, Minn., a unit of UnitedHealth, Minnetonka, Minn.

President Obama recently signed a bill requiring group health plans to help administer a program that will provide a 65% government subsidy for employees that choose to use the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act health benefits continuation provisions.
