A large financial services company is trying to increase registered representatives’ ability to sell retirement plans and pension plans to small and midsize employers.

The MetLife Broker-Dealer Group at MetLife Inc., New York, has opened a Pension Resource Center.

Registered reps affiliated with four MetLife broker-dealers — MetLife Securities, New England Securities, Walnut Street Securities and Tower Square Securities – can use the center to get the support services needed to serve 401(k) plan, profit-sharing plan and defined benefit pension plan clients, MetLife says.

The center can help with matters such as plan design, plan administration, compliance testing and actuarial consulting services, MetLife says.
