Personnel Changes: Hartford, Mutual Trust, Others

Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. has named Mark Esposito chief information officer for its life operations.

Esposito has been interim CIO since October 2008, according to Hartford Financial, Hartford.

Esposito has a bachelor’s degree from Western Connecticut State University.

In other personnel news:

- Mutual Trust Financial Group, a unit of Mutual Trust Holding Company, Oak Brook, Ill., has hired G. Edward Hughes to be senior vice president, sales and marketing.

Hughes previously was a vice president at North American Company for Life and Health Insurance, Chicago, a unit of Sammons Enterprises Inc., Dallas.

Hughes is succeeding Charles McAleer III, who is retiring.

Hughes holds the Chartered Life Underwriter and the LIMRA Leadership Institute Fellow professional designations.

- AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company, New York, a unit of AXA S.A., Paris, has named Vincent Cohan, David Kahal and Suzanne van Staveren senior vice president.

Cohan is chief technology officer at AXA Technology Services.

Kahal is national sales manager of AXA Distributors L.L.C., the company’s life insurance and annuity wholesale distribution organization.

Van Staveren is senior vice president of corporate markets.

- Stroock & Stroock & Lavan L.L.P., New York, a law firm, has brought Christopher McGlashan to be a special counsel in the firm’s insurance practice group.

McGlashan previously was a managing director and group head at the insurance solutions group at Citigroup Inc., New York.

McGlashan helped write the special purpose financial captive legislation adopted in South Carolina.

- The Society of Financial Service Professionals, Newtown Square, Pa., has named Stephen Libby chairm of the professional interest section committee.

Libby is brokerage director at M & M Brokerage Services Inc., New York.
