Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America is using golf to promote its Allianz Endurance 15 indexed annuity.

Allianz Life, Golden Valley, Minn., a unit of Allianz S.E., Munich, Germany, says it is offering a $100,000 Allianz Endurance 15 annuity to any professional golfer who makes a hole-in-one on Hole 16 during tournament play at the Allianz Championship in Boca Raton, Fla.

The tournament is part of the PGA Champion's Tour and is limited to golfers over age 50, such as Lee Trevino and Gary Player.

Allianz Life hopes to use its role as the title sponsor of the tournament to encourage consumers to work with financial professionals to evaluate their needs and help them cope with the current economic challenges, company executives say.

In other insurance sports marketing news, Aflac Inc., Columbus, Ga., is introducing two new television spots, "Monster Tires" and "Joyride," to celebrate its first year as primary sponsor of Carl Edwards and the Number 99 Ford Fusion. The 15-second commercials are set to air during the national broadcast of the Feb. 15 Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. The commercials then will air on major broadcast networks and cable channels such as ABC, CBS, NBC, A&E, CNBC and Discovery.

The commercials show that the Aflac Duck really, really likes to ride around in Edwards' race car.

Aflac has been the NASCAR official supplemental insurance partner since 2007.
