Personnel Changes: Penn Mutual, Sammons, Others

Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company has promoted two executives and hired two agency managers.

Penn Mutual, Horsham, Pa., has named C. Bayne Northern vice president of annuity distribution and Marsha Kohl to vice president of practice management.

Northern previously was national sales manager of annuity distribution. She has a bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University and a master’s degree in business from Loyola College.

Kohl previously was an assistant vice president for practice management. She began working for the company as a transcription associate in 1970.

Joseph Radovic has become managing director of the Jonson Agency, Washington, a Penn Mutual career agency. He has been a sales manager at the agency.

Joseph Mallee III has become director of advanced planning at Independence Financial Associates, Conshohocken, Pa., another Penn Mutual agency.

In other personnel news:

- Sammons Financial Group, Sioux Falls, S.D., a unit of Sammons Enterprises Inc., Dallas, has named Cindy Reed president of Sammons Securities Company, and it has named Matt Stahr to be chief marketing officer and vice president of broker-dealer distribution at Sammons Securities.

Reed has been senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Sammons Annuity Group, Des Moines, Iowa, and she will continue to hold those jobs, Sammons says.

Stahr has been an assistant vice president for broker-dealer distribution at Sammons Annuity Group.

Sammons Securities is the broker-dealer for Sammons Financial’s Midland National and North American Company for Life and Health units.

- Renaissance Life & Health Insurance Company of America, Okemos, Mich., a unit of Renaissance Holding Company, has hired Thomas Dimmer to be director of national individual sales.

Dimmer has been a senior account executive at Delta Dental of Michigan, Okemos, Mich.

Dimmer has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Montana.

- UMB Financial Corp., Kansas City, Mo., has hired Roger Forystek to be president of the UMB Insurance subsidiary.

Forystek previously was president of Hub International Southwest, a unit of Hub International Ltd., Chicago.

- Spring Consulting Group L.L.C., Boston, an insurance and health care consulting firm, has hired Steven Keshner to be chief actuary.

Keshner previously was chief actuary at Nippon Life Benefits, New York, a unit of Nippon Life Insurance Company, Osaka, Japan.

Keshner has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Binghamton. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries, and he is qualified as an appointed actuary.
