Two new products insure companies against the risk that owners or other key people will develop serious health problems.
A unit of Principal Financial Group Inc., Des Moines, Iowa, has started selling a key person replacement disability insurance policy and a business loan protection rider.
The key person replacement policy insures businesses against the loss of executives or others who make a significant contribution to business operations.
The business loan protection rider, sold with overhead expense insurance policies, insures that a business owner can repay a loan or meet other obligations even if the owner suffers total disability, Principal says.
