The House Financial Services Committee plans to meet at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday to organize its operations.

Committee leaders hope to adopt committee rules for the 111th Congress.

Leaders also hope to appoint the majority and minority subcommittee members.

During the recently ended 110th Congress, the committee’s Capital Markets, Insurance and Government Sponsored Enterprises Subcommittee played an active role in efforts to increase federal involvement in insurance regulation.

Rep. Paul Kanjorski, D-Pa., was the chairman of the subcommittee during the 110th Congress.

Rep. Spencer Bachus, R-Ala., was the highest ranking Republican member of the subcommittee.

When the hearing begins, a Webcast will be available here.
