A national health insurer says insureds now can get in-network benefits at all 322 Take Care Clinics locations.
Assurant Health, Milwaukee, a unit of Assurant Inc., New York, has included the clinics in the networks that come with its individual medical, short-term medical and small group plans
The Assurant Health provider network now includes a total of about 800 U.S. retail health clinics, the company says.
Walgreens Company, Deerfield, Ill., started the Take Care clinic chain, and chain clinics operate inside Walgreens drugstores in 35 markets in 18 states.
Nurse practitioners and physician assistants in the clinics can provide checkups and treat patients ages 18 months and older for illnesses such as strep throats, earaches and sinus infections.
