The state of New Jersey has awarded a 3-year Medicaid program support services contract extension to Unisys Corp.

Unisys, Blue Bell, Pa., will continue to serve as New Jersey’s Medicaid fiscal agent and Medicaid Management Information System provider, the company says.

The New Jersey Medicaid program covers about 1 million people and processes about $7 billion in benefit payments each year.

The base 3-year contract is valued at $126 million, Unisys says.

The contract also includes options for 2 additional years of service.

The contract could have a total value of $212 million, Unisys estimates.

Unisys has been New Jersey’s Medicaid fiscal agent since 1989.
