It’s not a landslide majority, but more than half (55 percent) of respondents to TD Ameritrade’s recent survey say they could use advice from their financial planner in the midst of the slumping economy.

The Associated Press reports 38 percent of the people who responded to the survey said an independent financial advisor is the person most likely to give good financial advice; about 24 percent said friends and family provide the best advice.
