Most U.S. adults want President-elect Barack Obama to make major reforms to the health care system, says a new poll.

The poll, conducted jointly by the Washington Post and ABC News, found 77% of adults believe Obama should make major health care reforms, and 51% think he should make those reforms soon after he takes office Jan. 20.

Just 26% think he should wait until later in his term.

Of about 1,000 adults participating in the telephone survey, 68% believe Obama will be able to make significant reforms to the health care system, while 28% think he won’t have that ability.
