President-elect Obama named Mary Schapiro, chief executive at FINRA, to lead the Securities and Exchange Commission, Reuters reports.

Obama is set to name the final members of his cabinet by the end of the week, the agency reports.

“By naming his pick at this time for the SEC job — which is not part of the Cabinet — Obama is signaling an interest in restoring the [SEC]‘s stature.”
