A Midwestern health insurer will be selling a new product for individuals and families through independent agents.
American Community Mutual Insurance Company, Livonia, Mich., says the new Community Flex preferred provider organization health plan offers Flex 100, Flex 80 and Flex 60 product designs, allowing for a choice of deductibles and coinsurance levels.
American Community will offer a 24-month rate guarantee for purchasers who choose deductibles of $5,000 or higher.
The company will offer a 12-month rate guarantee for purchasers who buy policies with deductibles between $500 and $3,500.
Other features include a $5 million lifetime maximum, a family accident benefit, family accidental death and dismemberment coverage, a drug discount card, and an option to pay more for richer benefits.
American Community will start selling the new product Jan. 1, 2009, in 11 states.
