American Equity Investment Life Holding Company recently announced changes to its management succession plan. John M. Matovina will serve as vice chairman, as well as chief financial officer and treasurer for AEL. Wendy L. Carlson will serve as chief executive officer and president. Ron Grensteiner will act as president for the company’s primary subsidiary, American Equity Life; Debra J. Richardson will serve as chief administrative officer, executive vice president and secretary. These changes will take effect Jan.1, 2009. Founder David Noble will continue to act as chairman of the board for both companies.
