A financial services distributor is offering the people who sell its products a choice about how to relate to it.

John Hancock Financial Network, Boston, a unit of Manulife Financial Corp., Toronto, says it is creating 3 affiliation categories.

One, for traditional financial representatives, will provide access to traditional health and retirement benefits along with significant levels of marketing support.

Hancock also will offer an independent financial representative category, for reps who want more control over how they market their operations, and a producer group category for reps who are members of marketing alliances.

Reps can move from one category to another without having to disrupt their operations, Hancock says.
