KC Employers To Supply Health Value Data

The Mid-America Coalition on Health Care is trying to collect the information needed to help group health customers get the most out of health coverage spending.

The MACHC, Kansas City, Mo., says 17 large employers based in the Kansas City, Mo., will be gathering data to try to determine which health care expenditures do the most to improve health care quality and hold down costs.

The MACHC is working on the 2-year “Value Based Benefits” initiative with the National Business Coalition on Health, Washington, and Pfizer Inc., New York.

The participating employers include the city of Kansas City; the Lockton Companies L.L.C., Kansas City, Mo.; H&R Block Inc., Kansas City, Mo.; and Hallmark Cards Inc., Kansas City, Mo.
