Broker Develops HDHP Fill-In Plan

Fringe Benefit Group L.P. has come up with a product that can help workers with high-deductible health plans and health savings accounts cover the costs they incur before meeting the deductible.

Fringe Benefit, Austin, Texas, says it will use insurance from Standard Security Life Insurance Company of New York, a unit of Independence Holding Company, Stamford, Conn., to offer the Framework Passage program.

The Framework Passage program offers limited-benefit health insurance that can provide first-dollar coverage for employees in HSA-compatible high-deductible health plans who suffer accidents enter the hospital or suffer from critical illnesses, Fringe Benefit says.
