The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission says members of the public have until Nov. 17 to weigh in on a proposal to regulate indexed annuities as securities.
The SEC originally released the proposal in June and set a Sept. 10 comment deadline.
Many insurance groups and other groups who disagree with the proposal said the comment period was too short.
The SEC announced last week that it would be extending the comment period deadline.
