A benefits vendor is beefing up enrollment and claim support for workers who speak Spanish.

Unum Group Corp., Chattanooga, Tenn., says it has developed new enrollment materials that offer extra explanations of products, such as long term care insurance, that may be uncommon outside the United States.

Unum also has opened a bilingual call center in Worcester, Mass., to supplement the bilingual employees already working in Unum call centers in Chattanooga; Portland, Maine; and Glendale, Calif.

Bilingual employees in Glendale will handle all new short-term and long-term disability claims for Spanish-speaking customers, Unum says.
