A Midwestern state will be requiring resident and non-resident agents and brokers to file individual producer license applications electronically.

Michigan producer license applicants must file their applications with the National Insurance Producer Registry gateway starting Oct. 29, according to the Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation.

The office regulates the activities of about 146,000 insurance producers.
