American National Returns To Galveston

A Lone Star State carrier has taken a major step toward recovering from Hurricane Ike.

American National Insurance Company, Galveston, Texas, says it and its subsidiaries – Garden State Life Insurance Company, Standard Life and Accident Insurance Company, and American National Life Insurance Company of Texas – now are returning employees to work in the company’s Galveston home office.

The company has been using temporary facilities in other cities ever since Hurricane Ike slammed into Galveston in September.

American National notes that it believes that it has been getting less mail than it should be getting.

“We are asking all of our customers, policyholders, agents and business partners to please contact our customer service areas if they have not received a response, in a reasonable amount of time, to any mail sent to us, so that we can make alternate arrangements to process the requests,” the company says.

Earlier, American National reported that it had set up a relief fund to help employees affected by Hurricane Ike.
