Green Checklist for Your Office

Advisors who want to go green might want to see how many items they can answer “Yes” to on the checklist below.

1. Do you use compact fluorescent lightbulbs?
2. Do you recycle all your paper?
3. Do you print and copy on both sides of your paper?
4. Do you use 100% recycled paper?
5. Do you use recycled toner cartridges?
6. Do the office cleaners use nontoxic products?
7. Do you reuse shipping boxes?
8. Are there plenty of indoor green plants in every room?
9. Do you encourage telecommuting one day a week?
10. Would you consider purchasing organic fair-trade coffee?
11. Do you encourage carpooling?
12. Do you offer reusable mugs rather than paper/foam cups?
13. Do you safely dispose of printer cartridges and batteries?
14. Do you properly dispose of old computers and telephones?
15. Do you recycle bottles and cans?
16. Do you turn off all electrical appliances at the end of the day, including computers, printers, and copiers?
17. Do you provide plastic water bottles to employees?
