Kansas Blue To Sell LifeSecure LTC Coverage

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas has agreed to market long term care insurance from LifeSecure Insurance Company.

Kansas Blue, Topeka, Kan., provides or administers coverage for about 885,000 Kansas residents.

LifeSecure, Brighton, Mich., is an LTC insurance unit of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan, Detroit,

LifeSecure will provide the products, administration support services and reinsurance for the Kansas Blue LTC program, LifeSecure says.

The LTC Blue product that will go on sale in Kansas comes with age-based rates.

Buyers can choose a total benefit amount between $75,000 and $1 million, and they can choose a monthly benefits payment equal to 1%, 2% or 3% of the total benefit pool.
