An affiliate of a financial services company has rewarded company employees who work for nonprofit groups by giving $466,250 in cash to those groups.

The Prudential Foundation, an arm of Prudential Financial Inc., Newark, N.J., has given the latest Prudential CARES Volunteer Grants to 583 U.S. nonprofit organizations and 64 nonprofit organizations in other countries.

To get their organizations into the competition for the grants, Prudential employee-volunteers had to provide a minimum of 40 hours of volunteer service for each organization nominated, according to the Prudential Foundation.

Grants will range from $250 to $5,000 per organization.
