Medical Travel Firm Reports High Satisfaction

One early survey suggests that U.S. consumers are happy with the health care they get when they travel overseas.

WorldMedAssist L.L.C., Concord, Calif., has shared that finding in a summary of results from an informal, Web-based survey of 1,200 people who have contacted the medical travel logistics firm in the past year.

About 98% said they would consider recommending going abroad for medical care to others in a situation similar to theirs, and 96% said they were satisfied with the medical tourism companies they had used, according to WorldMedAssist.

About 15% said they would travel overseas to get care to save $5,000, and about half said they would travel overseas to save $10,000, WorldMedAssist says.

Only 2 participants said arranging for “after care” back home was a problem.
