LIFE Honors Agents Who Made A Difference

- Michael Tokushige of Honolulu, who works for a unit of Principal Financial Group Inc., Des Moines, Iowa. He sold a life insurance to a firefighter who was about to marry. The firefighter died when he was 38, and the policy protected his wife and 2 children.

- Lynne Crittenden of Altavista, Va., who works for State Farm Life Insurance Company, a unit of State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, Bloomington, Ill. Crittenden persuaded a disabled single mother to keep her whole life insurance policy in force. The mother died in a car accident in 2006.

- Bob Arensberg of Wichita, Kan., who works for New York Life Insurance Company. Arensberg sold a life insurance policy to the wife of a disabled man. The wife later died of cancer, and the life insurance enabled the husband and 2 children to stay in the family home.

- Kassie Bennett of Charlotte, N.C., who works for CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia, and Jan Cox of Spartanburg, S.C., who works for Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. Bennett and Cox helped a young nurse with multiple sclerosis use disability insurance benefits keep working.
