Kevin Szott will be part of a delegation representing the U.S. Office of President this month at the Paralympic Games opening ceremonies in Beijing.
Szott, a manager of the Florham Park, N.J., sales office for a unit of Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., Hartford, will be 1 of 8 members of the delegation.
Szott, who has been visually impaired since the age of 10 as a result of retinitis pigmentosa and macular disease, has earned 3 gold medals in the Paralympics and has received Paralympic medals in judo, wrestling, goalball, and track and field.
Hartford notes that employees raised $37,000 this summer to support the U.S. Paralympic athletes headed to Beijing.
