A property-casualty firm is marketing a limited-benefit health benefits package designed for wealthy clients' maids, butlers and nannies.

AIG Private Client Group, part of American International Group Inc., New York, says the new Basic Health Benefits for Private Staff program can provide benefits for clients' full-time domestic employees.

The insurance, underwritten by National Union Fire Insurance Company, Pittsburgh, will provide fixed payments for hospital stays, surgery, critical illness care, preventive care, well-child visits, and cases of accidental death or dismemberment.

The policy includes access to a provider network that offers pre-negotiated care discounts, according to AIG.

The policy also offers access to a 24-hour nurse line and a prescription discount card.

The product is available in all states except for Connecticut, Minnesota and Washington.
