Morningstar Inc. has agreed to acquire Financial Computer Support Inc.

Morningstar, Chicago, sells investment research and portfolio allocation services.

Financial Computer, Oakland, Md., sells the dbCAMS Plus portfolio management system. Advisors can use the system to track and produce client reports, and to manage client billing.

Financial Computer was founded in 1981 and now has about 35 employees and 8,000 licensed dbCAMS Plus users, Morningstar says.

Morningstar says it plans to build dbCAMS Plus into the Morningstar Principia line of products for financial advisors.
