The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is asking for public comments on its Healthy People 2010 initiative.
Since 1979, HHS has been organizing the Healthy People initiatives every 10 years to set and monitor national health objectives, officials say.
The HHS now is asking members of the public to comment on the vision, mission, goals and framework for the 2010 initiative. Comments are due Sept. 2.
