AIG Advisor Group announced that Mark Schlafly was named president and CEO of FSC Securities and Advantage Capital Corp., reporting to Larry Roth, president and CEO of the AIG Advisor Group. Schlafly joins AIG Advisor Group from LPL Financial where he served as senior vice president of brokerage products and services.

Jeff Auld has been named president and CEO of AIG Financial Advisors, Inc. and American General Securities. Auld succeeds James Cannon, who is leaving the company. Auld previously served as president of broker/dealer Berthel Fisher & Co., and prior to that, at NEXT Financial.

The Senate confirmed on June 27 three new SEC commissioner nominees. Elisse Walter, senior VP of Regulatory Policy & Programs at FINRA, has been confirmed to be an SEC Commissioner with her term expiring June 5, 2012. Luis Aguilar, a partner with the law firm McKenna Long & Aldridge in Atlanta, will serve a term expiring June 5, 2010. The third new SEC commissioner will be Troy Paredes, a professor of law at Washington University in St. Louis. His term will expire June 5, 2013.

Ted Mathas is now the CEO of New York Life Insurance Company. Mathas still retains the title of president of the company, a post he’s held since July 1, 2007. He succeeds Sy Sternberg, New York Life’s chairman and CEO since 1997.
