Morris, Manning & Martin L.L.P. has brought in a veteran lawyer from Habersham Funding L.L.C.

Morris, Manning, Atlanta, a law firm, says James Maxson will be working for the firm on an “of counsel” basis as co-chair of a new life settlements group.

Ward Bondurant, a Morris, Manning partner, will be the other co-chair.

Maxson has been executive vice president and general counsel of Habersham Funding, Atlanta, a life settlement provider.

Maxson now will represent Habersham Funding as an outside counsel, according to Morris, Manning and Habersham Funding.
