The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans has published a directory of information on 26 health care coalitions serving more than 9 million workers, dependents and retirees.

Health care coalitions are cooperative ventures of smaller employers that use their collective purchasing power to obtain health care services at significant cost saving. These coalitions also work to address broad health care issues, notes IFEBP, Brookfield, Wisc.

The “Health Care Purchasing Coalitions: Multiemployer and Public Plans–2008 Directory” includes contact information, geographic area served, services provided and lists of members.
