A health insurer that has been active in the government plan market has completed acquiring an individual health insurer.
Centene Corp., St. Louis, says it has closed on Celtic Group Inc., Chicago, the parent of Celtic Insurance Company.
Celtic sells health insurance to families as well as to individuals.
The Celtic deal “positions us to offer a broad range of coverage solutions customized to the unique needs of each state,” Michael Neidorff, chairman of Centene, says in a statement.
