Georgia Blue Unveils PPO Lines

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia has started selling the SmartSense and Premier collections of preferred provider organization plans for individuals.

The SmartSense plan, designed to be a low-priced option, provides some preventive benefits and coverage for up to 3 physician office visits per year before an insured has to meet the deductible, according to Georgia Blue, Atlanta, a unit of WellPoint Inc., Indianapolis.

The Premier plan offers lower out-of-pocket costs, unlimited coverage for office visits, broader preventive care benefits, and an option to add maternity coverage, according to Georgia Blue.

Both plans offer catastrophic coverage.
