Carrier Segments Houston Health Market

UnitedHealthcare has set up a program that will focus on selling individual and group health coverage to Asian Americans in the Houston area.

The program will sell health account plans and traditional preferred provider organization plans, with Web-based and telephone support available in several different Asian languages, according to UnitedHealthcare, a unit of UnitedHealth Group Inc., Minnetonka, Minn.

The program also will offer Web-based provider and facility directories listing in-network physicians who speak Asian languages.

Languages available include Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese Chinese, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi.
