Genworth Financial Inc. is selling long term care insurance partnership policies in 3 more states.
The LTC insurance division at Genworth, Richmond, Va., is marketing partnership-qualified plans in Kansas, Ohio and Nebraska.
States that have approved LTC partnerships allow partnership policy owners who exhaust private LTC insurance benefits to keep more assets before qualifying for Medicaid nursing home benefits.
The average annual cost for a private room in a nursing home is $48,656 in Kansas, $69,611 in Ohio and $56,846 in Nebraska, according to Genworth researchers.
