BasicPlus Insurance Services L.L.C. is helping insureds use its limited benefit plan coverage to pay for care received outside the United States.

BasicPlus, Roswell, Ga., says it has agreed to include a network of accredited overseas hospitals developed by Companion Global Healthcare Inc., Columbia, S.C., in its most popular limited benefit health plan provider networks.

The plans pay up to $2,000 per day for hospital care.

That might cover only a portion of the bill at a typical U.S. hospital, but the payments might go further at overseas hospitals, BasicPlus executives say.

All hospitals in the new arrangement have Joint Commission International accreditation, BasicPlus says.

BasicPlus members also can get help with scheduling overseas appointments and arranging travel, the company says.
