Board members of Pacific Life Insurance Company have elected James Morris to succeed Thomas Sutton as chairman.
Sutton, who retired as chief executive officer of Pacific Life in 2007, worked for the company for 43 years and assumed the title of chairman in 1990, the company says.
Sutton will continue to be a director of Pacific Mutual Holding Company and Pacific LifeCorp, the company says.
Morris, who began working for Pacific Life as an assistant actuary in 1982, has been president and CEO of the company since Sutton retired from those posts.
Morris has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
