If people were offered a financial incentive for staying healthy, would that be a major motivation in eating better, exercising more and maintaining a healthy lifestyle?
“Wellness for Life,” a new program and rider made available by Aviva, hopes to do just that, providing its customers with rewards for healthy living, not to mention access to Mayo Clinic Health Solutions as a useful resource.
The program comes as an optional rider available on several of Aviva’s Fixed Indexed Universal Life policies. Customers are eligible for potential savings by having a bi-annual physical examination with a doctor; if they maintain their body weight within a range specifically established for them at the time they purchased their policy or meet other wellness criteria, the benefits can be substantial.
As well, participation – there’s a one-time $100 fee to add the rider – also gives customers access to the Mayo Clinic’s health resources, including unlimited access to a 24-hour nurse call line and a personal wellness Web portal.
