Summit Business Media L.L.C. has announced the acquisition of Advanced Planning Press L.L.C., publisher of OnlineAUS, an electronic resource for financial advisors and insurance companies.

Summit Business Media, New York, is the parent of National Underwriter Life & Health, the publisher of the NU Online News Service, and other business information operations.

Advanced Planning, Franklin Lakes, N.J., has aimed OnlineAUS – the Advanced Underwriting Service – at financial advisors who sell complex arrangements involving topics such as estate planning, life insurance, annuities and employee benefits.

The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Robert Adler, the president of OnlineAUS, has 26 years of experience in the legal and insurance fields and is a widely recognized expert in the advanced planning field.

“AUS has a 55-year history of helping the best in the business become even better” Adler says. “We’re constantly developing and improving the service. We aim to be the authoritative resource for the widest possible audience of financial advisors.”

“We are delighted to have the experience and creativity of Robert Adler on a continuing basis,” says Andrew Goodenough, president of Summit Business Media. “The addition of Adler and AUS will accelerate our migration to our electronic future–and therefore will be a great benefit for our loyal customers.”

Adler will continue in a consulting role with Summit, developing new business and helping to formulate electronic strategy for the company’s tax and financial planning products, while continuing to contribute to OnlineAUS.

OnlineAUS will be a part of Summit’s Reference Division, managed by Fred Rodgers.

Adler will work closely with Rodgers and with Deborah Miner, the editorial director for the Reference Division’s Tax and Financial Planning Products.
