A large insurer is realigning its distribution force in an effort to boost sales of a new variable annuity product.
Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., Hartford, says it will be combining about 175 wholesalers on the team supporting the Hartford Leaders VA contract.
In the past, the wholesalers were supporting 2 separate variable annuity lines, Hartford says.
The Hartford Leaders contract offers a choice of 81 investment options and an updated guaranteed lifetime withdrawal benefit.
Hartford is issuing the annuity contracts through Hartford Life Insurance Company, Simsbury, Conn., and Hartford Life and Annuity Insurance Company, Simsbury.
Hartford Life and Hartford Life and Annuity are responsible for backing the product guarantees.
