A recognizaable entity in the insurance business has announced its grant recipients for 2006. The National Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies Charitable Foundation introduced its grant recipients during NAILBA’s annual meeting in Dallas last November:

  • The Dream Factory of Georgia, based in Atlanta, received $20,000.
  • Miriam’s House in Lynchburg, Va., received $20,000.
  • Special Spaces Inc. in Knoxville, Tenn., also received $20,000.
  • The Quinn Haberl Foundation of Marinette, Wis., was awarded $15,000.
  • Songs of Love Foundation in Forest Hills, N.Y., received $15,000.
  • Casey Cares Foundation of Baltimore was awarded $10,000.
  • Family First, based in Tampa, Fla., received $10,000.
  • Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children Inc. and Pittsburgh-based Homeless Children’s Education fund both received $5,000.

NAILBA Charitable Foundation also announced it raised $150,000 during its three day show. A silent auction, a live auction and a car giveaway accounted for $100,000. Donations from Genworth Financial and ING accounted for the other $50,000. The Charitable Foundation says it plans to give away $250,000 in 2007.
