MedAmerica acquires LTC business

Late last year, MedAmerica announced it had acquired the long term care business of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, as BCBS sought to concentrate on its core health plan operations.

As part of the agreement, MedAmerica will honor all in-force contracts for BCBS policyholders.
Agencies that sold BCBS Minnesota's LTC coverage have the opportunity to sell MedAmerica's LTCI product, CareDirections Simplicity.
